Thi Nguyen is a Senior Principal Engineer working for a technology company in Southern California. He earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, and currently lives with his wife in Anaheim, California. To his fellow Vietnamese, Thi has been better known as GS Nguyen Trong Thi, author of a dozen of Physics textbooks widely used in Vietnam. He was a Physics teacher and instructor at several prestigious schools in Saigon, including the National Polytechnic Institute, the oldest Engineering College in Vietnam. Thi always has had a deep passion for paintings, doing most of his works in charcoal back home in Vietnam. After moving to The US, Thi had a chance to take some acrylic paintings classes at Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California, and fell in love with the medium. Thi uses acrylic paint on canvas in all the works you see on this site. Thi's paintings are mostly on flowers in the front and back yards of his home in California: Roses (Thi has 100 rose bushes), Magnolias, Peaches, Fruits from his garden; as well as subjects inside his home: Orchids, his two Golden Retrievers, and scenes captured on various trips.
